Kevin Swanson, founder of Generations, talks about the exciting opportunities ahead.
I’d like to ask you to keep our ministry in your prayers and to consider supporting us financially.
Praise be to God! We have just completed our 20th year in ministry! We have so many reasons to be grateful this year. In particular, we praise God for what He has done through the prayers and support of families like you! Over the last twenty years, we have witnessed the spark of a God-centered, family discipleship vision spreading like wildfire across our nation, and now all over the world. Our ministry has tripled in size over the last four years, and we can’t wait to see what God will do over the next twenty years!
For the past twenty years, we have been developing a ministry with an eye on the year 2050. Ours was a long-term vision with the intent of preparing for a worldwide Christian reformation in education and God-centered family discipleship. We set out to “strengthen the things that remain” (Rev. 3:2). We wanted to prepare a new generation for the enormous social transitions occurring in the here and now. We realize the vision seemed ahead of its time, but as the old saying goes, it was for us to “build the field, and they will come.”

We have distributed tens of thousands of books on the heritage of Christian liberties, the importance and distinctives of Christian education, the insidious influences of popular culture and how to discern worldviews, the principles of biblical family life, and Bible study guides for family discipleship. We have taken up a role of cultural analysis and sought to understand the times, preparing Christians in the West to face the uncertainties and transitions during the decline and fall of Western civilization.
Through your support, we now provide a 1st-12th grade curriculum for homeschoolers who are looking for a God-centered, parent-directed, biblical-worldview based curriculum, and we’re adding a kindergarten package next year. We have sown seeds and have trusted God to bring forth the increase.
As we look ahead to the next twenty years, we are confident that never was there a better time to champion the discipleship of the nations through family discipleship! The zeitgeist of isolation and relativism is breaking down our civilization, and the destructiveness of humanism is on full display as we witness major social, economic, and geo-political uncertainties and tensions. But together, we are rebuilding the foundations with relational discipleship, the biblical family unit, and a Christian-worldview-oriented-God-centered-Christ-honoring education.
And families are hungering for this biblical vision! I have never seen as much openness to the message as I witnessed at the 20+ conferences and camps I participated in this year. Families have testified to the transforming work of the Gospel—children converted, parents engaged, fathers awakened, mothers strengthened in faith, and homes coming alive. As I told the men at our packed out, back-to-back father-son retreats this year, Godly manhood is returning! Folks, I have to say, I am encouraged!
Can I be candid with you? This ministry is about more than Christian worldview equipping, homeschooling, family-based discipleship, conferences, and camps. The vision must never reduce to a label, a formula, or a mere conceptual thing in the mind. What we look for in ourselves and other families is a heart aflame with passion for Christ, an ever-increasing love for God with heart, soul, mind, and strength, a real and authentic seeking of the kingdom of God, and a commitment to passing that on to the next generation. We want to see a love for the body of Christ and a living out of His commands. This is the essence of Christ’s commission and the chief purpose of our ministry work.
What would happen if just 100,000 parents loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and realized the love of God for them, such that they would gain a vision for the kingdom of God and disciple their own children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord? This is no professional system of classroom education. Discipleship cannot be mass-produced. But when the Holy Spirit-revived hearts of fathers turn to the children and children to the fathers, big things start to happen. This is our prayer—a New Testament, Spirit-filled revival in families all over the world. Here is the best replication, reproduction, and growth plan in the universe! This is how the kingdom grows!
We are excited as we look forward to 2024. We thank God for opening the path this year for a new facility for Generations. Construction on it will begin soon. This will allow us to significantly expand our distribution in America and around the world.

Right: Homeschooling conference in Brasilia, Brazil
We are also thankful for adding many fruitful relationships with leaders in ministry at home and abroad. Brazil contains over 100,000 homeschooling families, and South Africa has 50,000 families. Since last year, we have launched ministry partnerships in both nations, resulting in several dozen books and curriculum resources now in print or production for these countries! We have also begun work in New Zealand, the UK, Portugal, and Mexico. Pray for wisdom as we seek to follow our calling from God in these areas.
Here’s one more urgent prayer need for our ministry: The fields are white, but the workers are few. Pray that God will raise up more help for us—writers, editors, administrators, and workers who share the vision and are willing to lay down their lives for this effort. We are stretched pretty thin these days, and we do not want to come up short on delivery for the work the Lord has laid before us.
Would you prayerfully consider supporting our family discipleship ministry for 2024? We are prayerfully seeking another 30-50% increase in outreach next year, and your support is critical to reach that goal. We believe this is the time to strike while the iron is hot, introducing the 4.5 million homeschoolers worldwide to a God-centered, family discipleship vision.
Brenda and I look forward to connecting with you in person at a seminar, conference, or camp this next year. Let us know if we can pray for you, and be sure to stop by and see us in Colorado if you’re coming through!
Serving Jesus with you,
