Fantasy is supposed to be soothing to the souls of men running away from God. But how does torture, perversion, and grotesque violence soothe the wicked? It may appear to be a temporary escape from God, but it produces the nightmare of Game of Thrones. The fantasy series turned out to be a gigantic disappointment, but of course it would. All fantasy is ultimately disappointing when it is over. . . unless we come to believe in the reality of the Resurrection! The preferred fantasy world seems to involve far more torture and grotesque forms of violence now. Will this prepares the world for a desensitization towards the next set of genocides? Yet, God is sovereign, and He will not allow for a centralized Babel tendency for long.
